About The Author

Arthur T. Benjamin

Arthur Benjamin holds a PhD from Johns Hopkins University and is a professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, where he has taught since 1989. He is a noted "mathemagician," known for being able to perform complicated computations in his head. He is the author, most recently, of The Secrets of Mental Math, and has appeared on The Today Show and The Colbert Report. Benjamin has been profiled in such publications as the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Scientific American, Discover, and Wired.

Michael Shermer

Dr. Michael Shermer is the Founding Publisher of Skeptic magazine, the host of the Science Salon Podcast, and a Presidential Fellow at Chapman University where he teaches Skepticism 101. For 18 years he was a monthly columnist for Scientific American. He is the author of New York Times bestsellers Why People Believe Weird Things and The Believing Brain, Why Darwin Matters, The Science of Good and Evil, The Moral Arc, and Heavens on Earth. His new book is Giving the Devil His Due: Reflections of a Scientific Humanist.

পড়াশোনাঃ স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর সম্পন্ন করেছি গণযোগাযোগ ও সাংবাদিকতা বিভাগ, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে।
শখঃ লেখালেখি, নতুন নতুন বিষয় সম্পর্কে ইন্টারনেটে ঘাঁটাঘাঁটি, মানুষের সাথে মিশতে পছন্দ করি। বিতর্ক ও মূকাভিনয় করতে প্রচণ্ড ভালোবাসি। সময় সুযোগ পেলেই রাস্তায় হাঁটতে হাঁটতে যাপিত জীবনের দিনাতিপাত দেখতে পছন্দ করি।
আমার যাত্রাঃ আদী প্রকাশনের সাথে আমার যাত্রা শুরু ২০১৮ সালে, রহস্য সম্রাজ্ঞী আগাথা ক্রিস্টির ‘এলিফ্যান্টস ক্যান রিমেম্বার’ বই অনুবাদের মাধ্যমে। এরপর হাঁটি হাঁটি, পা পা করে বেশ কিছু বইয়ের অনুবাদ করেছি। নিশুতি এবং নিশুতি ২ সংকলনের সবচেয়ে বড় দুটো গল্প আমার লেখা। এছাড়াও “সিক্রেটস অফ মেন্টাল ম্যাথ” নামের কাঠখোট্টা গণিতের বইটিকে সহজ ভাষায় পাঠকের হাতে তুলে দেবার প্রচেষ্টা করেছি। ইতিহাসে আগ্রহ থাকার দরুণ “মহারাণা প্রতাপ” বইটিও অনুবাদ করেছি প্রিয় পাঠকদের জন্য।
এলিফ শাফাকের “দ্য বাস্টার্ড অফ ইস্তানবুল”, “দ্য আর্কিটেক্ট’স এপ্রেন্টিস” এবং “১০ মিনিটস ৩৮ সেকেন্ডস ইন দিস স্ট্রেঞ্জ ওয়ার্ল্ড” বই তিনটিও আদী প্রকাশন থেকে আমার অনুবাদে এসেছে।
থ্রিলার সাহিত্য নিয়ে অনুবাদ কিংবা লেখালেখি করলেও সমসাময়িক বিষয়গুলো আমাকে বেশ টানে। ধুত্তোরি ছাই! বলে হয়ত একদিন সামাজিক প্রেক্ষাপটেই লেখা শুরু করে দেব। ভবিষ্যতের কথা কে জানে!
ও হ্যাঁ! “আলাদিন” নামের একটা মৌলিক আরবান ফ্যান্টাসি থ্রিলারও কিন্তু আমার আছে। এটিও এসেছে আদী প্রকাশন থেকে। খুব শিগগির বইটির যবনিকা ঘটতে যাচ্ছে দ্বিতীয় খণ্ডে।
